The Nakamata Laboratory Store is a retail interior for a confectionery brand that intersects a futuristic “lab” with a traditional teahouse to create a space that breeds playfulness and sparks conversation. The shop is inserted in the Maebashi Shed rental space completed in 2018. The Nakamata Laboratory Store is meant to bring energy to a suburb in the up-and-coming city of Maebashi by creating a space that is simultaneously a community hub and an iconic point of interest for the city. Through deliberate, understated design, the interior carves out an innovative yet welcoming space for Maebashi residents and visitors alike.
